Banja Vrujci - The Vrujci Spa
Banja Vrujci - The Vrujci spa is located in the heart of Serbia, 67km away from Belgrade (Airport „Nikola Tesla“), at the foot of the mountains Divcibare and Rajac, on 186m hight.
Banja Vrujci - The Vrujci spa is located between towns Ljig and Valjevo, and it is possible to approach with the Ibar highway, and Valjevo.
Through the Vrujci spa flows river Gornja Gorica, that is so named because in the middle of the cold winter water doesn’t freeze, than evaporates from the heat.
Banja Vrujci - The Vrujci spa is known for its healthness. Cultural traces and national traditions indicate that the area around Vrujci springs was inhabited from ancient times. From that time exists "wild" spa Vrujci, which lasted until 1935, when the Vrujci spa turn into a popular spa resort.
There are five major and several minor springs of mineral water Vrujci spa which are connected with the arms. Thermal water emerges from the mud and sediment in the area of approximately 200m lenght and 60m width. Water temperature is an average of 26°C. From there the water is distributed in all the spa objects. At the borehole output, water through the pipes flow about 60l / sec.
Turists used the thermal water for therapeutic purposes and the best results are in treatment of stomach and eye problems.
Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation studied the thermal water from the main borehole and gave an opinion of its therapeutic purposes for treatment of bathing, as well as an additional means of treatment in a medical rehabilitation, with heating to a temperature of 34-37 °C for the following diseases:
- Diseases of the locomotor apparatus
- Inflammatory rheumatism (rheumatoid arthritis - a calm stage of arthritis, Behterevljeva disease - initial stage)
- Degenerative rheumatism (arthrosis, spondilosis)
- Rheumatism
- As well as for chronic gynecological diseases (chronic inflammatory processes and sterility - vaginal spraying)
Banja Vrujci - The Vrujci spa is also well known for its medicinal mud. This mud, used for medical purposes, is caused by disclosing the finest mud from the thermal water that for years deposited at the spring and along the riverbed.
In this medical mud there are so many minerals and radioactive material. With the analysis of this medical mud, that has been created for many years, it was revelaed the presence of a much biger content of the concentration of elements and compounds than it contains thermal waters. Thanks to its structure, mud helps in the treatment of various rheumatic diseases, sciatica, varicose veins, skin diseases.
